Accessibility Statement
MVM Heart, Vein and Vascular Centers is committed to making our digital experience usable by everyone - including patients and visitors with disabilities.
Our commitment
Accessible care begins with an accessible website. We work to ensure that mvmcardio.com is usable by the broadest possible audience - including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, voice recognition software, and alternative keyboards.
Conformance status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, an internationally recognized standard published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines define how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities - including visual, auditory, motor, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
This site is regularly reviewed for accessibility and updated to address newly identified issues. We use a combination of automated tools, manual review, and feedback from users to guide improvements.
Features that support accessibility
- Keyboard navigation throughout the site, including a "Skip to main content" link at the top of every page
- Descriptive alt text for informative images and illustrations
- Semantic HTML structure - headings, landmarks, and lists used as intended
- Color contrast tested against WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratios
- Resizable text - the site responds to browser zoom and font-size adjustments up to 200% without loss of functionality
- Captions and transcripts for video content where available, with text alternatives provided
- ARIA attributes used to support assistive technology where standard HTML doesn't fully convey meaning
Compatibility
The site is designed to work with the latest stable versions of major browsers and assistive technologies, including:
- Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge (current and previous major versions)
- JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver screen readers
- Voice recognition software including Dragon NaturallySpeaking
- Keyboard-only navigation
If you use older browsers or assistive technology, some features may not work as expected. We recommend using the latest stable version of your preferred tool.
Known limitations
Despite our best efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:
- Older PDF documents may not be fully accessible to screen readers - we are working to remediate these
- Third-party embedded content (such as Google Maps) may have its own accessibility characteristics outside our control
- Some legacy video content may not include captions or audio descriptions - we are adding these progressively
If you encounter content that's not accessible to you, please contact us and we'll provide the information in an alternative format.
