Our story

A practice founded on clarity.

MVM was founded by Vinod Chainani, MD, FACC, FSCAI to deliver the full spectrum of cardiovascular and vascular care - from a first preventative checkup to advanced interventional procedures that save limbs.

Our patients consistently tell us the same thing: nobody had explained their condition to them this clearly before. That's by design. We don't rush, we don't talk over our patients, and we explain every option in plain English.

Vinod Chainani, MD, is the President and Medical Director of MVM Heart, Vein and Vascular Centers. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and a Fellow of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (FSCAI), with expertise across the full spectrum of interventional cardiology and vascular intervention.

Having trained at some of the nation’s most prestigious cardiovascular institutions - including the Ochsner Clinic and the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine - Dr. Chainani’s exposure to a wide range of pathologies gave him a strong clinical foundation on which he has continued to build extensively.

Dr. Chainani’s clinical focus spans preventative cardiology, complex coronary intervention, peripheral artery disease, and advanced endovascular technologies for limb preservation and salvage. There are many times when patients are told they have no options aside from amputation of their toes or limbs. This is when those patients turn to physicians like Dr. Chainani.

John H. Sokolowicz, MD, FACC

Dr. John H. Sokolowicz is a board-certified cardiologist with expertise in treating heart failure, coronary artery disease, hypertension, and adult congenital heart disease. His practice spans the full breadth of adult cardiovascular medicine - from preventative evaluation and medical management to the care of long-standing structural heart conditions.

Dr. Sokolowicz completed his cardiovascular disease fellowship at Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, his internal medicine residency at Montefiore Medical Center / Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and earned his MD from SUNY Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (FACC) and holds hospital affiliations at Baptist Hospital of Miami, South Miami Hospital, and Jackson South Medical Center.

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

Elizabeth Martin Boada, APRN, AGACNP-BC

Elizabeth is an accomplished nurse practitioner who began her career six years ago as a registered nurse in a cardiovascular/telemetry unit at Memorial Hospital West, where she developed expertise in critical care nursing and patient management in high-acuity settings. She earned both her BSN and MSN from Barry University.

Known for her compassionate, understanding, and collaborative approach, Elizabeth works closely with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.

Fluent in both English and Spanish, she is able to provide culturally competent care to a diverse patient population - further enhancing her ability to connect with patients and their families. Her commitment to quality care, patient safety, and staying current with the latest technologies and best practices ensures she consistently delivers high-quality, patient-centered care.

Advanced Practice Registered Nurse

Joao Fonte, APRN

Joao Fonte is a double board-certified Nurse Practitioner in Family and Acute Care Medicine with a diverse background in cardiovascular medicine, critical care, interventional radiology, and procedural care. His experience across multiple areas of healthcare has shaped a comprehensive approach focused on prevention, advanced treatment, and improving patient outcomes.

Before joining MVM, Joao gained extensive experience in critical care at Jackson Memorial Hospital and the University of Miami Hospital before transitioning into Interventional Radiology as a Nurse Practitioner. In that role, he performed and assisted with a wide range of procedures - from urgent interventions for critically ill patients to elective outpatient treatments - while collaborating with specialists across multiple medical fields.

At MVM, Joao combines his background in critical care, vascular medicine, and minimally invasive procedures to provide compassionate, evidence-based cardiovascular care. He believes in building trust through patient education, prevention, and empowering individuals to take an active role in their health to achieve the best possible outcomes and quality of life.
